How does it work

Check these item before calling the service technician.

If your system is not cooling at all.

C1.  Make sure that the thermostat is in the cool position and the set point is below room temperature. 

C2.  Make sure all system breakers are on

C3.  Turn all system breakers off and then back on, wait 6 minutes and then try system operation again.

C4.  Try the "fan on" option on the thermostat. If the fan comes on then low voltage is present.

C5.  If you can hear the fan come on but can not feel any air blowing out of the vents, turn system off and Call Scott Briggs.

C6.  If system trips breaker (when storms are not present)  leave off and call Scott Briggs ASAP. (778-6505) Do Not attempt to restart!

 

If your system is cooling but not well.

N1.  Check air filter.

N2.  make sure there is no obstruction in front of return grilles.

N3.  Check that all outlet vents are open.

N4.  If air flow is low at vents, system could be iced up. Turn system off and fan to on for 2 hours. 

N5.  Go to condenser section and verify that the outdoor fan is running and the out door coils are clean. If not Call Scott Briggs.(778-6505)

N6.  Go to condenser section and see if the large pipe connected is wet or cold. If not Call Scott Briggs.(7786505)

N7.  If ice is present on the indoor coil or the pipes to the outdoor unit, this could indicate a refrigerant leak, dirty coil, or dirty filter.

If item N5 and N6 are OK then you may have other problems that a qualified service technician must analyze or your system

may be loaded up to its designed parameters. Call Scott Briggs for more info. 

 

If your system is not heating at all.

X1.  make sure that the thermostat is in the heat mode and it is set above the room temperature.

X2.  If your system is gas, verify that your gas is turned on and pilot is lit (if applicable)

X3.  Turn thermostat to the off position and then back to the heat position. If no response with in 7 minutes, Call Scott Briggs.

X4.  Follow instructions starting at C2

 

If your system is not heating well.

H1.  Check air filter.

H2.  make sure there is no obstruction in front of return grilles.

H3.  Check that all outlet vents are open.

H4.  Goto N5

H4.  Call Scott Briggs.
