Heat Pump System Gas System Air Conditioning with Electric heat Thermostat
Filters Maintenance Troubleshooting
Maintenance on your new system is essential for proper operation and efficiency. Here is a recommendation
of Maintenance on different types of systems.
Air-conditioning with electric heat-------------------At least once a year before Summer
Air-conditioning with gas heat*-----------------------At least twice a year before Summer and before Winter
Heat pump with electric back up heat--------------At least once a year before Summer
* All gas appliances should be checked for gas leaks twice a year
The Importance of maintenance on your system
*(Here is an example of the maintenance of a heat pump system)
When we service your system we perform or check the following:
1. Clean the condenser coils - If dirty can cause high amp draw and strain on compressor which amounts to high power bills*
2. Check/clean the evaporator - If dirty can cause loss of capacity in cooling & heating which extends runtime*
3. Check for proper charge of refrigerant - If incorrect can cause loss of capacity in cooling & heating which extends runtime. Also this can damage the compressor*
4. Check all electrical connections - If loose can interrupt proper operation and even damage major electrical components*
5. Check proper operation of thermostat and system functions - Can interrupt proper operation and distort efficiency*
6. Check for clean air filtration - If dirty can cause loss of capacity in cooling & heating which extends runtime*
7. Check for air duct leaks - If leaking to the outdoors can cause loss of efficiency and capacity*
8. Check amperage on compressor, fan, and blower - If not with in specs could be caused by one or more of the above or defective component*
* These items may cause excessive energy consumption and shorten the life of your system
